On August 8th, 2001, EYAHT lost a
dear and treasured alumna, role model, and friend, Elana Rosenblatt,
who at the age of 29 succumbed to breast cancer. For three
years, Elana valiantly fought for her life, while raising her
four young children in England, where she and her husband served
as Aish HaTorah representatives. Elana viewed her illness as
a challenge, with lessons to be learned and an opportunity,
albeit not a desired one, to develop and grow as an individual
and Jewish woman. Her love, dedication, and connection to EYAHT
was felt by all who knew her, and hundreds who never had the
merit to, yet became connected to her through her powerful
writing, in which she shared her battle openly and honestly.

Bonnie Cohen, EYAHT International
Chairwoman "I am continually asked, ‘What
makes EYAHT so exceptional?’ The philosophy at EYAHT
is that every Jewish woman should strive to reach her potential.
EYAHT is a place for young women to become the most incredible
wives, mothers, daughters, sisters, friends, and educators.
EYAHT not only stresses textual skills and knowledge, but
the skills to be a kind and sensitive human being. EYAHT
is a place where young Jewish women are given the opportunity
to make an educated decision on how they want to live their
lives Jewishly. Having
known Elana personally, I can attest to the fact that Elana
was an exceptional role model for Jewish women all over the
world. She exemplified what it means to be an EYAHT woman.
In her merit, I hope that you will join with us in enabling
many more Jewish women to follow in her footsteps by dedicating
a scholarship in her memory."
